Army Chief, KP Governor, CM Khattak Attend Funeral Prayers


PESHAWAR (Web Desk) - Funeral prayers for the Peshawar attack victims were held in absentia at the Peshawar Corps Headquarters on Wednesday morning.
Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, and Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Asad Qaisar attended the funeral prayers.
Collective prayer was also offered for the departed souls.
Three days of mourning in Pakistan have been announced by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif following A massacre at the Army Public School in Peshawar which left 132 students and nine members of staff dead.
The Prime Minister announced the official mourning period amid countrywide vigils to remember those killed in the attack.
The grounds of the Army Public School - the scene of the attack - were all but empty this morning, aside from snipers manning the roofs and an armed guard at the entrance.
