GUJRAT — A 45 year old peasant was brutally attacked by feudal lord Muhammad Aslam, his sons and grandsons in Gujrat for not obeying their orders on Sunday morning.
Not agreeing with the feudal lord’s orders to reap the crops and keep the cattle out of the fields, the poor peasant was furiously beaten with blunt axe and iron rods, which resulted in breaking his arms and legs.
The injuries inflicted on the man, after being relentlessly hit by iron rods were deadly and grievous. Half-dead, he was left lying in the fields when the residents of the area arrived and took him to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital.
The police declined to register a complaint against the influential feudal lord, after which the residents of the town gathered to hold a protest.
The government of Punjab has taken notice of the incident but according to the doctors, the peasant’s condition is worsening by the minute.
