PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Gloom blanketed Peshawar after the horrific attack on Army Public School at Warsak Road yesterday morning that led to 141 deaths – 132 out which were innocent defenseless students and numerous got injured.
With most of the deceased laid to rest today, nation follows to grieve and condemn the blatant act of barbarianism.
Three-day mourning will be observed nationwide whereas the schools shall remain closed in Peshawar today. Peshawar University and Engineering University shall remain closed for three days and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council announced to hold strike in a bid to protest against the tragedy.
Flags have been lowered to half-mast at all the public buildings whereas traders’ association also announced to observe a day of mourning. All markets and business centers shall also remain closed.
A shutterdown strike is being observed in Quetta to mourn the attack.
Civil society observed candlelight vigils and protests in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad which are likely to continue in various cities throughout the country.
All political parties announced three-day mourning in the wake of this horrendous attack that took 141 lives. Most of the martyrs have been laid to rest and funeral prayers of the others would be held today.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif present in Peshawar has summoned all parliamentary parties at the Governor House in Peshawar today.
